In order to receive a gratuity, a company must work for at least five years. However, employees may get gratuity even if they do not work for five years. Socio-Economic Security Code 2019 contributes to this. This facility may not be available to everyone, however. This only applies to certain employees. The Central Government intends to amend the Gratuity Rules for Fixed Term Contract Workers. They also plan to pay the gratuity amount even after five years of service. This means that they will receive gratuity immediately after the expiration of their contract (not working for five years). They receive gratuity benefits on a pro-rata basis.
